Missions

The agency, now Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM), is engaged in missionary endeavor in many lands in pursuit of the original, audacious commitment of the Assemblies of God to unprecedented world evangelism. That commitment, the mission of AGWM, stands on four biblical pillars.

It is important that we stress the urgency of missions in America. Our country has an estimated 105 million lost souls. If we sit by and do nothing, there can be no doubt God will hold us accountable for letting these people die without Christ when it would have been so simple to share the gospel with them.

With over eight million bikers in the United States, there is an incredible window of opportunity for us – if we are willing to move out of our comfort zone and embrace the biker and motorcyclists in our communities.

We envision a multi-disciplined, Spirit-empowered, professionally trained chaplain team collaborating with a network of community partners and churches to bring the transforming power of Christ by meeting the unique human needs demonstrated locally, nationally and globally.

Appalachian Teen Challenge, under District Teen Challenge Director Jim Nickels, has one of the country’s finest residential campuses in Athens, WV, and a Crisis Referral Center in Roanoke, VA.
